Thank you, Christy. It means a lot that you care for [Student]. I just feel like no one at home really takes her mental health seriously, you know?
Christy has a heart for young ladies. Her passion has been seen in Boys and Girls Clubs, training, and one on one interaction with girls. Communities are changing due to Christy's intentionality to do so.
Yesterday you had student A who had a fantastic time with the group. Mom let me know as well, which is awesome because both have admitted she struggles greatly with anxiety and people. She can't wait for the next one, which will be after she has completed but I will make sure she is able to attend because I know you will be a huge help to her. Also, student B who Identifies as a male and struggles with mom pushing those things aside said it was great to talk with you and the others. When I sent out the notification to kids I have them in my phone as their legal name so when I got there to pick up I was a little worried how they would adapt but I knew they would be welcomed by the others and especially you so want to thank you for doing the group yesterday, we absolutely love what you do and the impact you can have with those ladies.
Christy with Chic and her team is an amazing organization to work with. She has a heart of gold and her main mission is to make an impact on children and their families' lives. I am so thankful for Chic being able to provide their services on site and provide a girls group ages 12-18 years old that focuses on addressing topics such as racial discrimination, peer pressure, how to love yourself, body image, coping skills etc. It's awesome to see the impact and grow relationships with the children and their families when we all come together.
I've witnessed firsthand the remarkable impact Chic's staff has on children's lives. Their dedication to helping kids learn essential life skills, manage their emotions, and nurture their mental health is truly inspiring. Through engaging programs and compassionate mentorship, they empower young individuals to navigate life's challenges with resilience and confidence. The organization's commitment to holistic well-being fosters a supportive environment where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. I highly recommend Chic to anyone seeking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and contribute to building healthier, happier communities.
The girls who were able to stay with the group said it was their favorite program and were excited to come back next week!
I wanted to reach out and talk to you about coming back during the school year to do programming with our girls again. Our members loved having you last semester and would enjoy your presents this year!
She keeps wellness the focus of her work, collaborations, ideas, innovation, and suggestions. Christy has seen wellness being done wrong for families and their youth and has an entire program and organization mapped out to be that solution.
The girls had nothing but good things to say about Christy and the group in the limited times they had to meet. Christy would love to continue meeting with our girls next year during flex and/or after school when possible. We are excited to have her over at Southview, and I know she is interested in branching out. And I know you have been looking for a positive mentor to come over. She is also a professional in the mental health field, which is a bonus. Thank you, Christy, for meeting with our students this year!
Christy is an incredible leader and a true advocate for young girls, bringing her impactful Chic Girls Group program to the Waterloo area. She's already seen great success facilitating this program in the Ankeny and Des Moines areas, helping girls build confidence, resilience, and leadership skills. Now, she's ready to bring those same opportunities to our community. We're seeking financial support to help Christy makes this possible, as we believe this program will be a valuable resource in Waterloo. We are looking forward to starting this program. I've reviewed her measurements, data collection, and had her present and attend our monthly meeting with our entire staff and chief. Everything that I have reviewed is on point for what we are trying to do.
My name is Danielle Masten, and I am a Juvenile Court Officer here in Polk County. I am one of two JCO's who supervise our girls court, Too Good to Lose (TGTL). I received your website link and flier for your upcoming conference in September through the Young Women's Task Force! I have included my JCO partner, Sharlene Claytor, and our case manager Megan Gauley in this email. We would love to connect with you and learn more about your services and programs as well as share a little about TGTL probation court.
I love this flyer and your nonprofit! I want to officially connect you with Kathy from my office (cc'd) who is SUPER passionate about girls in the system and leads Iowa's Taskforce for Young Women. She also manages multiple grants to the community that serves young people, including girls. I think the two of you are destined to be connected.
I attended the CHIC conference in September. She had a youth panel that Christy hosted from her girls group, and from that feedback I was able to create a program for teens about how to be an adult. The program goes over 19 lessons on what life is like after you graduate high school. Teens will learn how to budget, what a credit card and credit score are and how to finance a loan. This feedback was incredible and much needed to meet the teens where they are. Thank you for this opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful group and gain so much knowledge from this panel and speakers!
Christy is amazing! The work she does is impactful!
The girls ask each month if CHIC is going to meet. They look forward to it.
CHIC is a program that uplifts, supports, and listens to young ladies in our communities. We cannot continue to assume our youth will be our future if we cannot acknowledge them now, which is what CHIC Girls Program does.
This program has impacted lots of youth that struggle with self-care and knowing how to care for themselves as a young woman in every way, and I've seen them learn things they haven't before.
Thank you to all of our partners who have played an integral role in Chic's work. Together, we have made a lasting impact in our community. Thank you for being an essential ingredient in these testimonials!
